T-Mobile changing service extra charge?

I am thinking of changing from MyFavs 300 min plan ($39.99) to Individual 300 min plan ($29.99) because I don't talk very much and can save $10 a month.

I don't currently have text messaging as I discontinued my unlimited texting and thought I was saving $15 a month. I got 13 text messages and it cost me more in the long run. So I am trying to block all texting.......

When I click to see how much the monthly rate would be it tells me that I am required to have.....

BlackBerry Unlimited Web @ $24.99 a month

and

BlackBerry Unlimited w/Enterprise E-mail Add-on @ $29.98 a month

and

BlackBerry Unlimited Web + Unlimited Messages @ 34.99 a month.

Is this required because I want to go to an Individual 300 plan?

If so it's a rip-off and I'm dropping T-Mobile!

I have the BB Unlimited Internet plan now.

T-Mo changed their plan pricing a few months ago to the $24.95 for the BB data plan, so that's normal. However, they recently began forcing customers with smartphones, particularly BB's to have a data plan. If you were to purchase a new smartphone through them, they would ask you which of the above plans you wanted.

But on the website it is saying I need to have all 3 of those services plus my BB Web Service..... what's the deal? Is it an error on the website?

Prob a computer error as you cannoyt use 3 different services @ once. Many websites are not perfect when it comes to smartphones, personally I think it is to drive that money into the stores for reps to benefit from.

Hope this helps....

They used to charge $19.95 for the unlimited bb data plan. They bumped it up to $24.95 which includes 400 text messages.

You might want to reconsider dropping T Mo. My wife and I were getting tired of some of the issues we have had recently so I decided to see what the Other carries offered for their blackberry plans. The prices are outrageous. The only one that made any sense for me to switch to was AllTel cause they weerr cheaper to have with both BBs and the days plans and that was still about 179 which is 50 more than we pay now. Individually its cheaper at T Mo too. But if you're not gonna use a data plan it will be cheaper but not worth having a blackberry in the end.

I hate typing on the flip! Anyway one last thing. Ehen I checked those other carriers they all had the same thing. You get a BB and you pay for bb data plan and then a text plan which made no sense to me. I'd rather have an all in one bundle but it seems the carriers are charging for all of it

If youy move from one plan to another doesn't affect the services you already have, Ie: if if you are going from my favs to a individual plan that only affects you voice plan, and change the date when your contract expires, but you keep all the services you have unless you want to change them....

My suggestion is call the CS..

Definitely call cust service. Your $19.99 bb data plan that you have is grandfathered but still valid. If you make the change online it will make you switch to the new $24.95 data plan, but they can do the change for you at cust care with no problems. Don't forget that 300 plan for $29.99 doesn't have unlim nights either...

Okay I tried it again earlier today and it let me change my plan saving me $10 a month. It must have been an error because the 3 plans I spoke of were not checked and at check out it did not show up.

I kept the unlimited data plan. Just moved to individual plan 300 and blocked text messages as I now use the IM feature on my new 8900.

BTW.... thank you for all the replies

I love my Blackberry 8900 :d

Best BB I've gotten so far. I think the problem you were having with the site is part of the ongoing hiccups they're having with the new layout. If you've had service with them at least two years, they've got a pretty damned good unlimited calling plan you can signup for.

Yea you def want to reconsider switching service. I work for Verizon but I have TMo service because Vzws pricing is sky high and their BB plans don't come with anything but web and the plans are also required on any BB or PDA smartphone. Their data plan is 29.99 for web only and 44.99 for BES!~via smartphone mobile.rabroad.com~[/QUOTE]

I just got an 8900 a couple of weeks ago, previously had a pearl with data plan. I thought my data plan would be grandfathered also but they told me when I called they had to charge the new rate on the new phone even though i've already been paying for a data plan for two years. Maybe I should call back and try to get them to change it back...
