T-mobile blackberry data when roaming. Free?

Hi,
I'm about to get an unlocked 8320 and swap into a short contract from cellswapper or celltradeusa.

Anyhow.. much of the area I will be traveling / going to is in the areas on the map marked as "T-Mobile Roaming Coverage" and "850 MHz Roaming Coverage". I will be getting the unlimited data plan.

Is there extra charge for data in these "roaming" areas?

Thanks for your help!

Contact T-mo and ask them. I have VZW and when I am roaming, which is rare with VZW, I do not have data access, only phone. I get a "Data Connection Refused" message.

I did call them but the girl I got didn't seem to know what she was talking about. t-mobile seems to have a lot of limited coverage and then special roaming agreements... so I'm looking for a t-mobile blackberry user that goes into these roaming zones a lot. Anyone?

If you are on t-mobile and taveling throughout the united states and you are in a roaming area you will not be charged for roaming regardless. Doesn't matter if you are using data or voice. No charge whatsoever. I traveled to arkansas and theoughout the carolina's from florida and never once charged for roaming. And I use my device a lot. Hope this helps.any other questions let me know. ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~yeah its no charge. Well you see back in the day when they use to charge for roaming they had to put what carriers tower you were using so if you didn't want to get charged for roaming you could choose not use your phone. Then the industey shift to no charge for roaming for the most part. With the excwption of some smaller regional carriers.

although this wasn't asked, i thought i'd impart a little heads up...

when roaming you can't check your voicemail by holding down the number one key as usual. it will kick you to your own vm recording. just hit the # key and enter your pin. if you don't remember your pin i'm sure you can always call 611 and they can reset it for you.

edit: actually your post didn't say anything about voice, just data. haha, sorry!!

That also is depending on where you are at and whose towers you are roaming on. I roamed off cellular one and had no problems and in some areas I roamed off cingular and had a problem and some areas I roamed of at&t and was okay. I haven't figured what's up with that but that's just how they roll. Haha~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~

I'm with T-mobile and when I'm roaming my screen will say "AT&T", "Cell One", "A-Com Network", etc...(never heard of A-Com Network, but they seem to work fine!). I've never been charged roaming and I use data/email/texting. Hope that helps.

I've got T-Mobile and have roamed quite a bit in New England. Never been charged for roaming voice or data usage. Roaming in Canada (New Brunswick) is another matter -- very expensive.

I live in North Carolina and roam on either AT$T or Suncom (whichever network I am connected to says so on the home screen) and use data and voice without ever incurring any extra charges. There is currently no T-Mo in the Carolinas (at least until they fully acquire Suncom) and I have never incurred any extra charges above my standard monthly fees. In fact the only time that I have seen T-Mo on my screen is when I am connected over the UMA connection or the week that I was in CA for a funeral.

Same here... I only see the T-Mo symbol when i am on UMA.

To answer an earlier question: what Jonny and Finder said. I have never been charged for roaming.
