T-Mobile 8900 OS 5.0.0.93

Ok I picked up my wifes new 8900 from the local tmo store tonight. After transfering everything from her old pearl, she wanted me to check her applications. So I tried facebook and it directed me to the browser. I then checked the OS and discovered that the OS is 5.0.0.93. I thought this was only beta, and I have not recieved any update notice for my 8900. And of course the same issues with applications (ie...facebook not working) still exist. Has anyone discovered what I have.

Yeah, I didn't think 5.0.0.93 was officially released for TMo. Do you think the phone you received was not really new? Just speculating...

I'd have to agree that you got a refurb. Any word yet from T-Mo on this though? I find that CSR's have some of the funniest answers to these questions.

I haven't called them yet. I don't have the device in my hand. Ill be interested in what they say. But again I did watch the sales person give us a new box that was sealed. The more I think though it may be something I did. I checked the Laptop that I transferred the two blackberrys on and I had a copy of beta 5.0 on it. However nothing indicated that the system was upgrading.

Depends, did you have it saved or installed on your laptop. If installed DM would recognize as an upgrade and ask you to continue. Are you sure you didn't see that? The upgrade would have been fast

Those things happens with all products. I bought a modem from Best Buy and inside the sealed box was a different one. When I returned it they at first did not want to believe me.

You need to call the store and tell them that 5.0 was on your phone and ask why. You may have received a refurbished one that someone put 5.0 on. TMO does not have 5.0 as their official release. It is 4.6.231.

Yeah, that was the cause. It was on the laptop so when I transfered her info from the pearl, I guess it upgraded. Its fixed..Thanks
