T-Mobile $5.99 plan?

Hey guys, merry X-mas.

It's been about 2 weeks since I got my pearl, and today was my first time actually putting internet on it. Now I know little to nothing, and would really like to know if the way I look at this, is right.

The $5,99 plan I just bought will let me visit any website, download anything at no cost, and I will be able to visit my emails at yahoo.com, and google?

Then what's the point of having the $20 service, if you can pretty much do everything with the one for $6?

I'd really appreciate if you helped me out on this :> Thanks.

I plan to surf the web, download just some themes and some apps from yahoo and google so I can access my emails. Will I be able to read them, and reply and pay only $6, or will I get a nice bill up to a $100+ dollars one nice evening? THanks again & happy holidays.

* I also plan to visit websites outside of U.S

while i'm not a tmo user, they all pretty much work the same. the $6 plan is a limited media plan. it allows you 5mb usually of data, after that it charges you. plus with bb's you need a bb specific data plan because the data access is being delivered from rim's network. the $6 won't work because it won't send the service books. even if you could get it to work, you would probably end up with a massive bill at the end of the month. 5mb sounds like a lot, but you'll br surprised how much data you use when you have a bb (i use 60mb monthly, and i'm not even a "heavy" user).

It says "unlimited internet plan" and I should worry about going online? So what you're saying is 5mb is probably equalent to a couple of trips to google.com and back? Great.

i just looked on tmo's website and there is no unlimited internet for $6 listed. that would be kind of silly of them anyway. what you're looking at is probably either just a regular media package or a email-only bb plan.

they have a $5.99 T-zones plan it is designed for regular cell phones not BlackBerry devices. If T-mobile were to discover the plan you are on with it they could charge you for the usage. The other differences would be you cannot get email from the Messages icon, you cannot do PIN messages, and no BlackBerry Messenger. Just get the $20 plan - most of the rest of the World pays $30 or more for it so you're getting a good deal

No...no...no...the rest of the world has BB's
hang in there with your BB and it won't let you down. We'll help ya with
anything you need!

All right so the only difference between a $5,99 and the unlimited $19.99 (or is it $29.99 now?) plan t-mo has is the unrestricted website access. So if I have the expensive plan, I can access any site such as hotmail.com which does not have a wap, but with the $5,99 tmo plan I have right now. I've confirmed through the numerous phone calling, that I can view, read and send my mail free of charge through yahoo, and gmail.. Download any OTA free of charge, and pretty much browse the web and access most of the sites, unless they're not wap. I'm also unable to download pictures.

All of this honestly pleases me, as I mostly rely on my computer at home, but it's nice to go on cnn.com once in a while and only pay $6 a month.

So you guys were wrong. !

Safe to say, it's for any phone.

Interesting.

So you dont get Push email, you have to access it through the web. You cant view non-WAP pages. Also I thought you couldn't do OTA with that plan? How much data do you get?

Seems interesting but Ill stick to my BB Unlimited plan.

Also Tmobile has a plan where you can get Unlimited Emails or something like that for 9.99 a month.

Yeah I had the Tzone package on before I knew about the broader range BB data plan. But when I seen my bill after switching....let's just say the KB's really add up!

The T-zones plan that you have for $5.99 a month is not supposed to be available for blackberrys. Whoever you talked to at T-mobile should have told you that you aren't able to have that feature and the person that put that feature on your plan in the first place shouldn't have either. Its not really a matter of whether it works or not, its a matter of that plan is not supposed to be allowed on a BB. Hopefully you won't be charges alot of usage charges for this.

like said above the T-zones $5.99 is for cell phones not smart phones or BlackBerries. When you call customer service you really cannot ever ask front line representatives any questions about BlackBerries because most of them don't know much about BB's. When you call, ask for the BlackBerry support team (they might have a different name such as Smartphone support etc).

The $19.99 unlimited BB plan is what you need to fully use your BB. Go to the carriers website and navigate through as if ordering new service. When you select a BB it will not offer you T-zones $5.99, only the BB plans.

I am doing the same as blitzed, using the 5.99 tzones plan. I believe it goes against your minutes. I have always used the tzones on my previous phones; how can tmob now justify charging me extra for data when it was never a charge in the past?? I had custserv activate something called the tzones enabler for bbpearl on my line, (enabler is free) and now use tzones with pearl. They better not be charging me per KB; I will mutiny! Class action or somethin! I want to get the full data plan so I can use Opera Mini and Yahoo Go but my wonderful wife pays the bills and she is having a hard time understanding why a person would "need " the internet on thier phone. She will kill me if they charge for the usage (i been using it all weekend)
