System of a Down

Not completely true, i find their music quite original and progressive (im not saying they are prog, just progressive, theres a difference)...Their guitarist (i know his name, but its too damn hard to pronounce) churns out some very creative riRAB...Nothing about their music spells airplay or billboard 100 success, but they get those things anyway... Chop Suey, Toxity, Spiders, all those songs are in odd time, no verse-chorus-verse structure to speak of, with weird as hell vocals, obscure lyrics and very complex musical arangements and influences, and dispite all that, those songs still become huge hits, quite remarkable when you think about it.
 
Eh, the war messages are too.. I dont know how to put it. Overt and basic, and not in a good way. BYOB for example just sounded immature, screaming "why do they always send the poor" a gazillion times over. Hardly effective, but oh well. Good music, that can make up for it...
 
oh god, lets get into an "my countries news is better than your countries news" argument, very mature adidass (ha, quite fitting the 3 middle letters of your screen name). so sue me, i follow my countries news, and i stand by the fact that seeing as the iraqi people have been able to have a diplomatic, free vote for god knows how long, the war has improved the country in the long run immensely. im done with this stupid debate, im just repeating myself.
 
See that is generalizing, and name calling. You call people naive for seeing the lyrics for what they are but it seems that you preach only about this band, that my lovely friend is ignorance to other people. Do you want to run the world's super power? Do you know all the choices you'd have to make? And name a nation that has a government that doesn't single out some group of people.
 
Don't like this band. Never have, don't ever expect I will.
I've never liked his voice, and I never thought they sounded great musically either.

I have a wide range in music taste, I suppose.

I love FFTL.

It isn't that I was expecting something, it was more that I was hoping it would change THAT much.

Which it did.

Which disappointed me.

Because Sonny was the best part of that band.
