System of a Down

Rationally explain? No. I expect someone to do what FaSho did and say "hey check out this part of this song". Or "I know from reading some of your other posts that you like x, I think you may dig this song because of y". I don't think that's too crazy of a request. Would you prefer I just write off SOAD as crap and not give them a fair chance?

Listening to SOB there is definitely more of a melodic feel, Chemicals in particular is very catchy.
I think it's a nice album, perfectly listenable, but it's not setting me on fire or anything. Bit too samey overall, just doesn't have that same feeling of experimentation like the last SOAD albums did. I dooo like Stoner-Hate though. Not that i've heard the Serj album yet but judging by the singles off of it this still beats it.
 
Please explain to me whats the least bit good about SOAD? Other then the fact everyone seems to be hopping on the bandwagon of loving them I see nothing good about them whatsoever. Everyone freaks out over them, and considers them one of the best new banRAB ever. They're boring, and nothing special. I dislike Static X also, but at least they aren't so overrated.
 
Good God, Quit going at B.Y.O.B and Prison Song, that's all you have been criticsizing. We know SOAD are weak when it comes to politics, now how about a comparision to their other songs, mainly their older stuff. And don't give the general "simple chord ****" because that is pretty narrow minded.

and kinda like what Boo Boo said, dismissing a whole genre as bad loses your credibility.

"soad have been slipping since steal this album"... How? STA was their weakest. In my opinion, anyway.
 
Yes. Only I was referring to people who have already heard the music and didn't like any of it. Further exploration is usually recommended when you show at least some interest for their work.
 
i've just found out that Daron Malakian plans possibly to do a solo record that leans towarRAB electronic music after all the touring finishes for Hypnotize/Mesmerize
But he says it does not mean System Of A Down are over
