System of a Down

i got into this band a while ago. i bought their first album for $17 and the second was only $20. then they played at a festival here-which was awsome. great set- and toxicity went up to $40. how stupid is that.
best songs are sugar, soil, war?, deer dance, and forest i think. i didnt really get into steal this.
 
Have you listened to him live? He can't sing that great. Have you seen him on $2 bill? He dosn't sing that great... And I said it was Nu Metal because on Toxicity, it says somthing about them being a great Nu Metal band or somthing. So don't say that I was stupid for calling them Nu Metal when *looks at cover* spin magazine called them Nu Metal.
 
I could compile a list right here of all the songs he sings in, sure he does rant in a few of their (like Prison Song, which is a song I hate) but seriously in most he both sings and does speed ranting.
 
That's very true.

I think it's because it isn't the same that they don't like it, though.

When a band comes out with something that veers away from society's perception of the band, people become confused.
 
System Of A Down are easily the greater band in my opinion, but I do enjoy a bit of Static from time to time - mainly the first and second albums, though.

I probably wouldn't have been able to make a decision before Systems one/two newest albums came out - they've really grown as a band and the songs situated across those pieces of work really shine. Plus the production is just fantastic now, but it was never terrible or anything.
 
I bought the Mezmerize album just yesterday, and Ive listened to it a good few times. Its one of those albums that grabs you from the first time you hear it... Well, for me anyways. Definetly worth the money...

Adding on; If you were to look at a SOAD guitar tab and then look at a Necrophagist tab, you'd see how much SOAD pales in comparison. Not saying that technical ability overrides EVERYTHING, but in this case, I'd prefer Beneath the Massacre or Dying Fetus over SOAD.
 
I never use Lololololol though. I hate abbreviations enough as it is.
