System of a Down

i have all their albums except steal this album. i teld to like the first 2 the best, just cuz of the raw energy and emotion they exude, great songwriting. is steal this album something i want to look into?

When I was like 10 years old they were the first real heavy metal band I knew. At age 10 I listened to Sugar and Spiders from their first self-titled album. Then I became obsessed with Toxicity. I liked Chop Suey!, Jet Pilot, Aerials, and ATWA. Then I got a burned copy of Steal This Album! I would sing Streamline and Mr. Jack out loud all the time. A few years later Mezmerize came out and I'd turn the radio up every time B.Y.O.B. came on. Soon after Hypnotize came out and I got it for Christmas and it was just as great as Toxicity. Hypnotize, Lonely Day, and Vicinity of Obscenity. I thank SOAD for getting me to quit listening to the old mainstream pop crap and got me into real music. Thank you System!!!

Oh I know that. I'm in no way doubting his talent as a guitarist -- some of the guitar work with the songs on Hypnotize and Mesmerize were amazing. Just... like already said, the songwriting/singing leaves way too much to be desired.

Not at the concertss Ive been to, I live in texas people here are gun crazy, but luckly i'm a chick so they don't serch us as well as the guys. Last time i had it in my bra i work just fine.

The flaming on this forum is unoriginal, cliche, and downright retarded. It almost makes me grateful for myspace.

The rest of the Hypnotize album is alright though. Mezmerize and everything before it is great. Toxicity is my personal favourite, chiefly because of "Forest".

ya, i guess when i see the more well known banRAB, the ones that actually make enough money to make it a career and not a hobby i tend to expect a little more from them, especially their live performance. But like i said though, they put on a good, fun show and there was definetly alot of energy put out by them.

Politics have been a very common part of music since the Woody Guthrie days... Nothing unorthodox about it.

Though of course, i'm indifferent about all that stuff, i prefer music over the message, a song can be about gardening for all i care... If it has a great melody, rhythm, beat.... Whatever... Then it's good enough for me.

can we stop with the SOAD they do not have the talent to impress any person that i have ever met. they have 1 or 2 good songs to play Shooters with

Soldier Side was acctually a dissappointment. It was the one I wanted to hear the most but I'm not too fond of it.
I think Vicinity of Obscenity was my favorite.
