Well it's not nearly as hardcoreish, so fans of SOAD might not enjoy it as much, but just because it's a lot slower and more piano-fronted that desn't make it any worse than anything by SOAD
An orchestral arrangement would really add something to their sound for sure.... if, of course they managed to stay together, which is kinda undecided at the moment, I mean, i guess they haven't really said they're never going to play together again, right?
Yeah, just look at The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who, Black Sabbath, The Doors, CCR, The Clash, The Kinks, Metallica, Radiohead and The White Stripes.
i love all thier songs, i remeraber when they you could here them on the radio nearly everyday. well anyways, i also liked when they did the zelda theme song v.v
oh man i'm so glad i got to see them with everyone there.
in fact...it was one of the coolest shows i saw. it was at ozzfest one year and as my brother and i were walking around we noticed this guy wondering around with a portable amp and guitar just jamming out and getting really into it (obviously homeless as well). we watched for a while wondering who the hell this guy was....then when SOAD started playing the guy was on stage with them just jamming out! he wasn't hooked up to a big amp or anything so you couldn't really hear him..but he was getting into the music anyway. they had seen this guy wondering around and asked if he wanted to join up onstage! it was great!
Ummm... BYOB is more mainstream/popular than Chop Suey right now.
Haha, I remeraber I've always listened to heavier music, and my frienRAB saw a SOAD cd in my case (Toxicity I think it was). One of them ignorantly said "How can you listen to that screaming sh1t." Mesmerize comes out, and my frienRAB all like SOAD now. They've actually listened to Toxicity now and they like it.
It kinda shows you how ignorant people are of heavier music, and how much conformity sucks. Next step... get them into Opeth
