System of a Down

one guy complained abot an album only being 38 minutes long..he wouldnt have fared well up into the mid 80's then

^

yes it could, but not if i haven't only started listenning to it recently.unlike chop suey, which when u ask people about SOAD is the only song they have ever heard.

Yes, you do, the SOB debut is about ten times better than Serj's new album, although I'd say they sound more like each other than any SOAD album.

And as far as the status of the band, I have gleaned and discerned that the hiatus isn't indefinite. After Serj's limited involvement in Mezmerize/Hypnotize, he wanted to pursue a creative outlet for his musical arabitions, while System was gravitating towarRAB Daron's uncollared songwriting. It is clear that this isn't a matter of "creative differences" or personal problems; Daron has attested his respect and admiration for Serj, and I don't think that's going to change. Serj has another album due to be released in 2009, and I am hoping beyond hope that exercises his creative inhibitions and he is content to re-form SOAD thereafter.

Okay, people ARE allowed to have differing opinions... I say political, period, no agenda. And their music hasn't always been so heavily laden with such subject matter. So whatever, besides, I wasn't even directing my post at you, it was for the person I quoted.

Daron has a great voice to sing on the songs with as does Serj
I think thatit is great that they are sharing the vocals
It gives the songs some more variation and could arguably be SOAD at their best
And i didn't like vicinity of obscenity the first time i heard it but love it now
It really grows on you and i can't wait to go crazy when they perform it next year. I'll be right down the front as i was this year taking every moment in and having the time of my life

theres only on thing about korn that piss me off.
when they get bloody rappers to sing in thier songs. its so bad and it makes me angry cause korn are such a good, talented band and they do stupid crap like that.

but yeah, they are both but korn still win

I actually take that back. They're not nu-metal, though. I would class them as more of an alternative metal. I guess I can take back what I said, and you're right, no new sub-genres.

Btw, what is Nu-metal? I don't think of it as a genre like most do?
