Central Damascus has been hit by a bomb. At least five people have been killed by the blast in the Syrian capital.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the explosion occurred in Marjeh Square near the Interior MInistry.
State TV shows widespread damage.
This attack marks the latest attack in the government-controlled capital.
It comes just one day after the Syrian Prime Minister survived a car bombing in Damascus.
Since the fighting between Syrian forces and rebels began in March 2011, more than 70,000 people have been killed, many of them civilians.
