syncing music with windows 7

I have a Moto droid using 2.2 and my laptop has Windows 7 installed, Windows Media Player does not see the droid when I try to sync music. I did not have any issues when I was using XP Pro. Does the droid not work with windows 7? Any ideas?
 
I had no luck with Win 7 with either my N1 or my G2. I just installed songbird for free a cpl days ago and that works perfectly, BUT make sure if you purchased any music from Amazon that you do a manual sync and not automatic, since it will overwrite all music on the device with what is on the computer and your Amazon music will be gone and not replaceable. I only bought a cpl things from them (stuff I felt I had to have while on the road) so I didn't lose much, but it pissed me off.
 
WMP should work.

otherwise use songbird, doubletwist, or winamp - think mediamonkey will work too.
