sync problems with TX

Hi,

Bought a new Palm T/X today. Originally set it up to work with the Mac. However I found out that to get my PDR from the pdr.net site, which is my primary goal, I have to sync the Palm via Windows. I originally set my Palm up with the Mac using a specific user name. When I went to the PC, I had to install the Palm Desktop software under a different user name. I?ve received additional software as gifts which also need to be installed via Windows-which I didn?t know until I popped the CD into the Mac. So I guess I need to maintain some degree of stability on this Palm and use it basically off of the PC. I was able to download and install my PDR, but the other software from Skyskape just seems to be installing, now for 40 minutes?? Can this be?? Is the user name important?? Is there a way to reset everything and start from scratch without erasing all the native software that came with the Palm TX?? I basically would just like to use it now synced to the PC since it seems that fulfills my major goals.

The Palm seems to run on the user name from the Mac, but when I try to install software via the PC does it matter which user name I use. I just picked the Mac name while trying to install the software on the PC, it seems like it's doing it, just taking forever!! No error messages like "wrong user" or anything. I love the TX. It seems really slick. But this is getting to be a pain

Is there a way get all my info from Entourage/Mac on to my wife's PC running XP. Or can I maintain this ?duel identity?? I actually tried to use iSync originally to get my Address book and Calendar from OSX to the Palm, but iSync could find it. I clicked Add Device. It didn?t find it and when I scanned for it, it didn?t see it. It was hooked up via the usb port. I know it was linked.

Any thoughts would be deeply appreciated.

Frank

I belief in these situation especially with MAC they want it harder to make both OS compatibile and able to work together. I would try maybe look for a program that can do...download.com has lots of stuff.

Although I have not had occasion to do this, I believe you can change the User Name but you have to use the Palm Desktop application to do it. Take a look athe the TX User Guide here.
