Does anybody know of a good way to sync all my contacts and calendar info on outlook 2007 to Gmail?? once i sync my blackberry to outlook i want to then be able to sync outlook with my gmail account that way when i get my G1 and login with my gmail user name i will have all my info. I have tried to export all my contacts to a .csv file and then upload it from my gmail, but the problem i have with that is once it has been imported all my numbers and names are all mixed up and it is very hard to find a contact. so anyone that can please help

Thanks

EDIT: Ok I think I answered my own question. i found a program called Kigoo and it will let you sync your calendar and contacts with your gmail account check out the link http://getkigoo.com/

Has anyone seen a sync between MS Exchange and google gmail, contact,&calendar?

This looks like a client-side sync where you need a comp with outlook 2007|2003 running.

Yeah, I'm looking for that, too. I dunno, though, that means I'd have to give yet another service access to my Google account with full reign over my calendar and contacts. Hmmm ... havta think about that ... maybe I should just import my calendar and contacts into Google and abandon Outlook/Exchange for a while? That's a scary thought because I've been using it for, like, 10 years or more. It's survived where other apps have come and gone. Hmmm ... yeah, havta think about that.

But, in the meantime, if anyone finds a service like this ...

I tried the program out myself, but it never worked after inputting my login info. The program would freeze up, and cause outlook to slow to a crawl. I figured it was my firewall blocking the app, but I set it to allow access to the net.

Anyway, I tried out google's own outlook to google calendar sync program and it worked flawlessly! Very quick and easy to use.

But for syncing outlook contacts to gmail, I'm still looking around for a program.

i created a csv file from outlook and gmail imported nicely, although the first couple of tries,it was a mess. i deleted all contacts several times and re-uploaded. i think third time it worked nicely. still quicker than importing manually. i'm using outlook express6 because i need it installed to sync with activsync. outlook 2007 might have issues for some reason.

I thought I would remind everyone about one other important limitation when doing these big imports. You can only delete a maximum of 500 contacts at once in gmail. So, if you've got 750 contacts, and they're all dorked up and you want to start over, you would think that you could just press the "Select All" button and then "Delete Selected Contacts", but G will complain. So you then have to go down the line, deselecting individual contacts one at a time until you get to where you have 500 contacts selected and then you can delete them. So, if you are doing a big import, I would HIGHLY suggest that you start small to make sure everything is working good. Try some of your trickier contacts--ones that have the most fields filled out--to make sure everything goes where it is supposed to. Once everything is hunky-dory, then upload the whole thing. Good luck!

I still haven't tried it out as I'm seriously considering abandoning Outlook and Exchange. Having to find a way to sync several version of my stuff across multiple clients is one thing. Syncing across multiple servers is another. Manually syncing servers or using a client-based application to do it is unacceptable to me.

If anyone comes up with a seamless way to get the contacts in Gmail and Outlook synced, please let me know! I've been searching for a way to do it since I preordered my G1, but so far all my efforts have been less than successful. Importing just didn't work very well. I haven't tried just deleting and starting fresh in Gmail yet (Outlook has all my contacts set up the way I want them, with all the information as I prefer it) but while all of the contacts might get imported to Gmail, some of the information isn't coming through, and when it does, it seems to be getting bery muddled. I'm a little nervous about this feature on the new phone, although otherwise I'm very excited about all the features and functionality. I just wish Google would come out with as elegant and seamless a sync solution as they have for Calendar.

Hi.I found syncmycal.com which does _both_ calender and contacts sync to your gmail account. Works pretty well although on initial setup it was going a bit slow. Somehow I ended up with 3 of the same contacts for some of my contacts. Otherwise it's a excellent product.

I had a hell of a time to get my calendar and contacts from Outlook 2007 on to the Android. Almost gave up after 3 hours of messing with it but then I found this and got it working within 10 minutes by following these directions:

http://blog.irontechsolutions.com/2008/12/how-to-sync-your-outlook-2007-contacts.html

I almost gave up and returned my phone if it hadn't been for this method! I wish Google would hurry up and come out with better ways to synch.

There is a new tool in the Android market called Andook. Just downloaded it and imported my contacts from Outlook to my phone, without going thru google. Worked like a breeze. It probably needs a little bit more information on groups, just a UI improvement i guess.

It has sync settings marked as coming soon. Will have to wait and see, if it can really sync.

This thread has accurate info about the problem - Outlook 2007 email & calendar can easily be synced (non-Exchange version I am using works fine), and therefore integration/synch to Droid (Android 2.0) is automatic/seamless.

But syncing Outlook 2007 contacts to gmail contacts can only be done with Outlook CVS export and gmail import of same file. Batch files is not a sustainable task - and not 2 way. I would drop Outlook if Google Contacts had better viewing of contacts (by company, in phone list), etc.

I saw the following package (www.sync2.com) and am wondering if anyone has experience with it? I'm not generally a fan of Outlook add-ons if this is, but it has a new feature to "sync Outlook contacts folder with Google Contacts". They want $$ for it, so I'm just curious if anyone knows anything before I buy it?

Hey all, new Droid user here...and I might have a solution to the contacts sync that allows for actual syncing. It's called funambol, and they support almost any mobile device, including now limited service for the Android platform. All you do is download the outlook 2007 plugin for funambol, available here: http://www.funambol.com/opensource/download_response.php?file_id=funambol-outlook-sync-client-8.0.5.exe , install it, then you can go here : https://android-client.forge.funambol.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=60&expandFolder=60&folderID=0 (its still in beta stage, but so was the one for blackberry and it worked flawlessly...eventually calendars, tasks, and notes will be supported too.

As soon as my Droid comes in the mail today, I will install and report back...

Hi,

Funambol is not safe enough... It is a really interesting concept, but depending on what device you want to sync, it has bugs, and as it is community based, you might end up waiting a long time until someone can help...

I made a bad experience with my P1i and the SyncML. I installed my own Funambol server (quite interesting if you like to have your own data management), and the sync with outlook was pretty smooth and perfect... but then, the syncML agent was scrambling the field mapping when my P1i was synching with it ... I abandonned it .

I found CompanionLink which works for both contacts and calendar. It handles multiple calendars, categories, and many other options. It worked nice for a while, but on a random base, it moves all my outlook contacts to the "Deleted Items"... Fortunately it does not delete them permanently, and it keeps them intact in Gmail. But it is a really anoying bug as I have then to reset the sync settings, and to start all over again... I have opened a ticket about this, but so far, no news... I'm about to quit.... But I paid for it :-( So I hope they'll do something about it.

Regarding Kigoo, it is not a sync tool, it is an outlook add-on allowing to show gmail contacts and google calendars within Outlook and to use them from there directly. But it won't actually sync anything.

If anyone find the perfect solution, I'm all ears.
