I had my 3rd upper endoscopy yesterday to see if I had signs of acid reflux or other digestive problems. They did a couple biopsies. This was my first upper endoscopy since I had a Nissen Fundoplication in October 2008.

After the first two, I had no issues at all. After the scope yesterday, I was fine, but tired and I napped for about 5 hours. This morning, though, I woke up in pain. My ribs were sore from the front, around to the back, up to my shoulders, neck and arms. I called the doctor on call this morning. He didn't seem too concerned and said it was probably from the gas. I'm assuming that my fundoplication kept the gas from coming up as it normally would and the gas disipated into my body instead. I'm still sore tonight. Not sure how long it will take to work its way through my body.

Anyone out there had any similar symptoms after a scope?

BTW, my esophagus and duodenum were normal and my fundoplication is still intact so that is good news. Now the 2 week wait for my biopsy results.
