Sylvester Stallone back for 5th Rambo adventure

I'd rather Stallone make a new Rocky film than make another boring Rambo one. Stallone should make one last Rocky film before he retires (IF he retires :D)

The storyline to Rambo V seems an awful lot like Arnie's 1985 hit Commando.

I'd actually prefer a more intelligent movie;a prequel to First Blood, narrated by Sly.

I can hear the voice over for the trailer now.

"He rose from the streets to capture the admiration of the world, he slipped back down into obscurity before rising again to face the young lion. But this time Rocky Balboa is back to fight his toughest fight yet. Rocky VII: Why can't I open my packet of crisps...Coming to a cinema near you"

I am sure somebody would pay to see it. Just like the new Rambo.

"He fought for his country and they showed him no respect, he tried to leave that life behind but they dragged him back in. The war hero that usually fights the terrorists for the freedom of man is back this time to fight for the right to save the one place he now calls home Rambo V: Keep your damn hanRAB of my nursing home....coming to a cinema near you."

how ageist and tired this thread has become

I think stallone's physcial and mental endurance with both the return of rocky and rambo, if anything demonstrates, where there is a will, there can be a way, when it comes to the subject of ageing

that was, to my mind, the point of rocky balboa and that terrific speech, rocky gave,

about it's not about how many times you get hit in life, it's about what you do about it and how you endure

I agree that Stallone is still in great shape for his age and is by far one of the best writers in cinematic history. But lets face facts in these types of films there is only so far that you can suspend belief before a man in their mid sixties just becomes pathetically stupid. How many times can the same man get hit over and over by a man a third of his age, and how many times can a man take on an entire army on his own?

Sorry but I think that Rocky Balboa should have ended the way Stallone wanted it to and not the way the studio wanted it to, Stallone wants Rocky to die gloriously not tiresome. The same goes for Rambo enough is let the man walk away from the life be it alive or dead. Otherwise all people are going to remember is that Stallone was the man that could never know when to end a good thing.

I did not say I did not like the ending to Rocky Balboa, just that I would have prefered Stallone's ending and not the studio ending. Stallone has been trying to kill Rocky for nearly 25 years. First it was planned for Rocky IV, then Rocky V and then Rocky Balboa but the studio kept saying it would be like killing a superhero. There really is no more that can be said, so I hope they do not do another but you know that as Stallone gets older he is going to get more and more preasure from the studio to make another.

Same goes for Rambo, they end the last one the right way with him finally going home which is what the first film was all about, Rambo finally being able to go home and stop the fighting. Now here we go again he is back to fighting. Leave it alone for god sake.

Oh jeez some right boring old farts here.

The newest Rambo and Rocky films were really good fun and I enjoyed them alot.

I cant wait for the new Rambo. Sly is ace.

I actually really liked the most recent Rambo movie. In all seriousness it was one of the most shocking (in a positive way) action films i've ever seen. It showed war to be a brutal and shocking thing and was not some gung ho type flick like first blood part 2 was.

The first Rambo film was actually quite good too. Parts two and three were dire though.
