my daughter is 5 years old, this is the 3th time she wakes up with her right side hurting. she says her ear ache and she doesn't want to eat. the first time I took her to ER there they said it was an ear infection, gave her antibiotics for ten days. 2nd time took her to her Dr. she said it was the parotid gland geve her antibiotic for 10 days. yesterday she started to complain, what should I do, take her to the Dr. for more antibiotics or ask then to perform other tests?

lillianveras,

You most certainly should returned to the doctor, request maybe a referral to a specialist. Is there a Childrens Hospital near you? Go online and look up to see if they have an ENT department, which I am sure they do and ask for an emergency appointment. You can also simply take your daughter to the Childrens Hospital Emergency Department.

The other thought I have is, is there a possiblility that your daughter may be having a hard time pushing up a new tooth. Check inside her mouth and look at her gums, do any of the gums look inflammed. Could you daughter possiblily have gotten hit in the side of the face recently and maybe have developed an abcess. You might consider having a dentist take a peak.

I hope these suggestions have been helpful.

Let us know how everything turned out.
