I was diagnosed with panic disorder when I was 14, I am now 27. They stopped for 8 years, and then came back. I am also Bipolar. I am 27, healthy, 5ft7in 122lbs. (just in case that may help).
Lately when I have an attack my hanRAB and feet (tops and bottoms) swell up and turn BRIGHT red. After a while they take on a very faint purple, but this may be my fear after the rest happens. I always take my blood pressure during an attack (to assure me) and it is usually 120/60 pulse 125-135, Is this swelling and color change in my hanRAB and feet normal?

My suggestion? WITHOUT becoming obessesed with it and symptoms (which I know is so hard when suffering in this manner), try to record when you get panic attacks and/or symptoms like you wrote of here. Before or after eating...? Certain time of day?

I dont think what you described is "normal"... but Im not going to venture any guesses that may further throw you into anxiety....

Do you have any known allergies?

What is your diet like?

I find it very interested that your symptoms disappeared for 8 years.... do you know why? ?

KNows the hell and is here to help,

Hi,
Thank-you for your response. I d not have any known allergies, or health issues. My diet is broad. I usually eat at supper time, I find I am not hungry throughout the day, I will have anything from a t.v. dinner to a full course meal. Oddly, today during an attack my hanRAB had bright orange splothches on them. I am just so confused about this. I have no idea why they stopped for 8 years, but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. My attacks usually last about 3 hours, then I am so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open. I do keep a detailed record of my attacks, there is not one common detail that appears to bring thm on...they have a mind of their own. I hate the thought of being medicated, but I may have no choice.
