thanks for that! never heard of that. also there is compartment syndrome a kidney thing. i had some of this but no one knew it was for years. kidney probelm low potassium. thought it was poor circulationl i agree, keep digging and find a new doc.

Yes...and while I'm uncomfortable to throw this out there...get your ovaries checked! Blood tests as well for cancer markers. I don't want to scare you, but I've heard of too many women with the same symptoms and the result has been ovarian cancer.
There's nothing to lose if the results are negative. It's just that doctors don't think to check for it. Better yet, do the research and see if you fit in the category.

You have so much to deal with regarding autoimmune....it could be related, however. Are you seeing a rheumatologist or your GP?

Gerty:

Please let us know how you are doing and what else was done to figure out your swollen calf. Its very curious.

Thanks, Cowpin8

My friend had that, and it was a blood clot that went to hear lungs. They caught it in time but she was in the hospital for over a week. Please have them check until they know EXACTLY what it is.

Gerty:

Obviously that is NOT normal at all. Go to a second and third doctor. There is a blood test called a "D-Dimer" test that checks for risk of blood clots anywhere in the body. The higher the number the higher the risk of a blood clot somewhere in your body. Go for another Ultrasound! I had a cyst in my left breast (and I am a 41-year-old male) and the first Ultrasound did not find it. Even a mammogram and an MRI did not find it so I went to a second doctor. He ordered a second Ultrasound at a different facility (obviously) and finally they found a complex cyst in my left breast. It took all of these tests and 2 doctors to get to the cause of my pain. Dont wait get it done tomorrow! To be honest with you if it was me, I would go to a hospital if it is really swollen bad. Blood clots are potentially dangerous. People do go to hospitals for things like that. It will also ease your mind because Im sure they will take blood and maybe even an MRI in addition to an Ultrasound. Why wait? Thats what hospitals are there for.

Good Luck, Cowpin8
