Switching Phones

I'm trying to switch my cricket phone to a cricket slvr, but Cricket wont let me because it says the account is still active. How can I switch the phone over without dealing with cricket technical support?

the slvr is still active? is it your phone or is it still active under previous owner. if its the latter, they need to cancel the account and then the ESN will be cleared to be registered to your account.

its from a previous owner, but cricket wont clear the esn because he didnt pay his bill, and they said i have to wait a month to use it and i dont want to wait that long. is there a way to do it myself?

not with a slvr unless you buy esn changer which is 800$......

if you you dont wanna wait a month than the best thing you can do is get a different phone

as per the forum rules changing esn discussion is not allowed. there are no exceptions. don't mention it to people.

OP: the only person that can close the old account is the previous owner. there is no other way around it. just wait until the account closes itself which is after the payment is 30 days late.

I have had the same issue. Even owing on an account all the original owner (the person you bought it from) has to do is call in and say i want this line disconnected. Disconnected is the key word. They will do it. I know.
