Switching from Army to Air Force?

Does anyone know more specifically how you go about switching from Army NG to Air Guard. I was told that once you are released from your unit, you can switch, even if your contract is not up. I have been released from my NG unit for a transfer to another state. There is not a NG unit with an opening in my MOS within the 50 mile radius. Am I able to switch to the Air Guard?

you'll have to talk to a air guard recruiter, but they wont be able to do anything unless you can get released from NG to IRR status.

Ask an Airforce retention NCO or a recruitor.

One, yay for you. Two, you should talk to an Air Force recruiter. He knows how all of that works and can help you with the paper work. There is a lot of it.
