Hey i just got a new phone and i'm at college so its kind of a hassle to go to the verizon store (no car), is there any way i can call verizon and switch the phone number from my current phone to my new one?
Ok, here it is - I don't care if you like me or not, I simply answered your question. Even though, quite honestly, you could have saved yourself a lot of time and saved the forum owner some wasted bandwidth if you had simply called Verizon to ask your question. They could have taken care of your request in teh same phone call, and it would have been done with.
Further, I'm neither crazy nor old and that is most definitely not an airsoft gun.
Yea you need to sign up and go to verizon wireless.com and change your ERI to the new phone. It will be under activate a new phone(in your case switching one phone to another) Once you have the new phone in hand you can switch the ERI and look under the battery for the information(if you do this over the phone you will pay $20). The ERI will be the long number located on the sticker on the battery or underneath it. First you need to make sure your phone number is selected. You can do this as many times as you need to for free online. I do this if I don't want to take my expensive phone with me or if you lose your phone or dropped your phone in water and have a back-up phone.
After you enter the ERI info do a *228 on the new phone and select option 1 and once the phone resets it should show the signal strength. Then do a *228 option 2 to update the roaming preferences so you won't get billed if you are in a new tower location.
I always encourage everyone to keep their old phone when upgrading just in case something happens. Yea I know its not the best one but at least you have something just in case. I have a Motorola RAZR as a back-up.
Heyy,
me and my cousin megan are trying too switch phones.
but we dont know how we can switch our numbers onto our other phones besides disconnecting the phones, and our phone company, Verizon, would make us pay alot to do itt, is there any way to switch them, besides going to verizon and having to pay?
