Hey guys,
So, I'm usually more of a reader rather than a poster but I felt inspired to post this to the board.
I'm sure that most readers here know about this but if not, here it goes..
SwiftKey is a new and really smart predictive-text keyboard for Android. The beta was just released into the Android Market and I have to say that I am really, really impressed. Previously, I had been using Better Keyboard but this really blows it out of the water. I love the auto-correction for missing the exact keys (which most keyboards have, so I should say I'm glad it's still there) but the real highlight is the intelligent predictive-text engine.
SwiftKey states that it's keyboard is able to correctly predict your next word 33% of the time with 0 keys in that word being entered and with 2 keys in that word being entered it claims an 80% success rate. Personally, I've been impressed with it's accuracy and intelligence.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone who isn't 100% satisfied with your current keyboard or even if you are, it's worth the price: free. The one thing that I didn't like as much was that as of right now it is not skinnable (that I know of, but I'm not an expert, it just doesn't have that option in the settings menu). Better Keyboard is skinnable and that's a pretty cool feature but I don't miss it that much. This is a beta version, so maybe in the final version it will be skinnable? I imagine if enough of the user base wants it to be, then it will be.
Hope that this helps some people, but mainly I just wanted to share what I believe is a really great product.
Thanks,
Nate
