swelling under ear

There is swelling under my ear to my jaw on the left side of my face going on about 30 hours now. i massaged with vasilene most of day yesterday and it was virtually unnoticable but this morning its back bigger and painfull when i try to nead it help please
 
When I got shingles, it styarted like that. See if you have any other swellings. It can be weeks of swelling and tenderness before the shingles break out. Also if you have sharp shooting pain in your ear. Alternatively, do you grind your teeth?
