Swedish Wallander Series 2

This Swedish TV series and the UK versions are based on different stories. The UK ones are based on the "Wallander" books whereas the Swedish stories (in this series) were specially written for TV (although there may have been one based on a Linda Wallander novel?). There was, however, an earlier series of Swedish films (with Rolf Lassg

He was in Poldark :) He was quite convincing playing an American :D

I've been trying to 'aquire' (ahem :o) some episodes that I deleted from my Sky+ box (d'oh!) but it seems that rather shockingly only Bra-nagh's version is available.

The Swedes don't get Vittnet until July. DVD is released there then. Film has already been shown on TV in Poland.

It should hopefully tie up the loose enRAB for Kurt and Katerina, but as usual he will get some 'sadness' thrown in.

only ones due to be made are the next Branagh eps.

Krister is concentrating on stage stuff for the foreseeable future. He has already done 2 stage performances, a church concert and a literature reading this year....oh and a live TV appearance.
Rehearsals start soon for a play to come in the autumn with Lena Endre. Despite working together on screen quite a bit over the years, they have never performed on the same stage together. So that should be quite an event. :)

Another good episode last night. The relationship between the two principal characters was expanded and the other characters are getting more screen time.

Thanks for that information KennyT, I live in hopes! Odd that the BBC4 site give no mention of it but I have noted it on the calendar just in case. Repeat or first showing I'll be happy either way.

Isabelle get shot once in the vest and has therapy, Pontus gets shot every week, blood and everything and is back at work next week no questions asked:D:D

Brannagh's Wallander is very watchable but it's the way the whole Swedish package is put together that makes it a cut above anything else on television

I thought there were some good changes from S1. Direction and photography looked much better. Lots of little touches throughout that I appreciated, though the feel of the police team seemed slightly less assured.

Story was standard stuff though with a predictable outcome.
Anyway well done to the swedes for improving their Wallander. ;):)

Last night's Wallander is not on I Player. Does anyone know why? All the recent ones have been and I was really looking forward to watching it today.

I would have preferred more Nyberg. The turning off of the life support machine scene did not ring true. Surely that would not have happened without brain stem death, in which case it was hardly the case of a suspect covering her tracks.

looks like Kurt is going undercover as a tramp this week:D

heard the word 'hoijer' again, this time it was translated as 'right', so maybe Pontus hasn't changed his name:D

Seems I was wrong about Pontus wanting all the accolades and non of the graft:o
