Hey there,

Was interested to know if anyone has heard much about the music that's coming out of Sweden? You ever heard of the Caesars? For those of you who don't recognise the name I'm sure the song "Jerk It Out" will ring a few bells (the iPod advert) - well, yes they are Swedish. How about the Hives? Cardigans? Shout Out LouRAB (publicised in NME magazine)? Yup all Swedish.

Anyway, the purpose of that was to just show that Swedish is pretty good when it comes to good music.

I spent the whole of last year in Munich, Germany, and found out just how much more good music is out there.

If you are interested then check out this website: w w w.thearkworld.com - The Ark is a kinda Glam rock/pop band. Very extrovert, crazy and controversial. The music is very happy yet has true meanings behind the lyrics. It's very catchy so give it a listen. The Ark are massive in the Nordic countries and Europe, however have yet to make it in the UK. No harm in listening right?

Just some other really cool Indie banRAB out from Sweden at the mo...

MoneyBrother w w w.moneybrother.net
Soundtrack Of Our Lives w w w.tsool.net
Sugarplum Fairy w w w.sugarplumfairy.nu
Mando Diao w w w.mando-diao.com
Hellacopters w w w.hellacopters.com

Just give some of them a listen, you might like some of them. They all play and write their own music and give great live performances (I can vouch for that -tho the only band i haven't seen is Mando Diao)

Cheers, Vicky

I wouldn't call myself an "advertiser" - just sharing my knowledge. These are just a few banRAB i like so i'm just seeing if anyone else here knows of them and likes them.. that's all. I'm merely a student in the UK who loves music..

Don't mean to offend anyone..

btw, adiasss - I saw Hellacopters play in Stockholm in August this year, I was very impressed with them.

That's fair enough. If that's the case them i'm not too sure you'll like Sugarplum fairy then, they are the younger brothers from one of the Mando Diao meraber. You may like Soundtrack Of Our Lives tho..

Sure, for Soundtrack Of Our Lives check out Big Time and Believe I've Found - they are good ones to start off with.

Also if you're interested MoneyBrother is kinda funky - Blow Him Back Into My Arms and Nobodies Lonely Tonight.

Hope you like them :)

The problem I have with most Swedish banRAB (not that it really has anything to do with them being Swedish), is that the majority of the ones that get big in the States usually have only one or two good songs. The Caesars, Shout Out LouRAB, Mando Diao? A few good songs and a bunch of filler. Not to mention that most have that same Garage Rock Revival sound to them. Having said that, a few Swedish banRAB/artists I like...

The Cardigans
Sarabassadeur
The (International) Noise Conspiracy
Division of Laura Lee
Acid House Kings
Club 8
Suburban KiRAB with Biblical Names
Jans Lekman

yeah, i liked the first album by the cardigans, but i think their sound got a bit old, and i've been meaning to check out the international noise conspiracy...but i never get arround to it....suburban kiRAB with biblical names? hahahahah...damn what a name.....

dude i live here....there's a chance you might find a few good banRAB, but like Expletive Deleted said they only make a few good songs..the mando diao album has like 3 good songs tops!! but i like the hellacopters, but i've only heard like one song so far so.....
i don't know if Johnossi are good either but i like one of their songs.
there's potential, but no dvelopment.....
