Swapping Bios Chips (same mobo) to avoid flashing?

Ok so I've recently managed to break my motherboard and intend to replace it with a new one myself. Seeing as the BIOS chip in the old mobo should be fine, I thought I'd swap the chips round to have the old chip in the new board to avoid having to flash it. Is there any problem with doing this or should it be fine? The motherboards (and therefore the BIOS chips) are identical, except that the old one's been updated and the new one likely hasn't. Don't tell me not to bother or that it will be more work than it's worth - I don't care! Thanks for any help - will select best answer :)
