swapping a th350 to a th400 in a 1982 chevy 4x4?

I have a 1982 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4. It has a th350 and a np 208 transfer case. I want to swap the th350 to a th400. what do I need for this swap? also will a short tailshaft th350 from a car fit?
 
The spline tail piece yoke of a 400 is different than a 350. More splines. The 400 is a few inches longer so the cross member will have to be moved back. And that changes the length of the drive shaft. Also the vacuum line at the rear of the 350, is on the side of the 400. Very important to hook up. Might need a different rear mount.
