Holy Crap, now even I'm confused, but probably not as bad as the Bev agents that make up stuff on the fly depending on what the think the poor customer will tolerate.

Aside from all the obvious reasons Bev should be shut down, you'd really thing provincial governments services agencies designed to protect consumers from poor business practices and BBB's across the country would be crying foul

If you're renting, you can't install yourself, they have to be professionally installed i believe.

Nem, who is under this belief...

Unfortunately, EV has done nothing illegal (at least in this respect.) It is covered under contract law and the contract they force you to accept when subscribing allows them to get away with it. The CRTC won't intervene either. It might be covered under libel law but EV knows that it is not worth it for individuals to pursue that route and libel laws are so weak in Canada that a class action would also likely fail. In short, I've been screwed and there is nothing I can do but bend over every time the bill arrives.

At some point a contract can be overturned when it's conditions do not serve the public interest, at least that's what a civil judge told me many years ago when I sued a former employer.
