My brother has a Suzuki Vitara and is having problems with the immobiliser as it seems it wont "Switch off" so as not letting the car start! As he doesnt use it anymore he's looking to sell it but obviously it needs to be running. What we do know is that it will run fine but the dam immobiliser wont let it!!! What we want to know is there a way we can remove or by-pass the immobiliser so as to get it running? Yes we can call upon an auto electrician but just wondering if there was a way we can do it ourselves before spending on an electriction to come out to it. Many thanks.

I have the same car and have just looked at my handbook (have you got one) : The engine can be started only with your vehicles original immobiliser ignition key which has an electronic identification code programmed into it. The key communicates the code to the vehicle when the key is turned to the On position.
If the Check Engine light blinks when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position there is something wrong with your key or immobiliser system. Thats what it says and there is nothing about over riding the system. Sorry.
