I have a 2001 Suzuki GS500E. It has a strange problem.
When in neutral it can rev up to the 11,000rpm mark. Which is normal for this bike. When it is in gear (or under load) it will only rev up to 6,500 rpm. Just under half.
If I hold the throttle fully open and try to push it beyond 6.500 the engine bogs down and a fowl stench of clutch smoke appears.
Somthing to do with the clutch perhaps? Im unsure, if anyone could shed some light on the problem or encountered it themselves? any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
