Hi everyone.
I'm looking into buying my first bike, and I'm already signed up for the beginners and advance safety course. I have been looking at some bikes and when I saw the M109r there was poetry in the air. I posted another question asking if m109r was a good choice for a first bike. I understand now that its too much of a bike for a beginner. What about M90?
Hello DimoJ
I appreciate your input. Would you explain your reasons further please? I hear that heavy bikes are harder to operate which I understand, but no one can tell me why other that the braking distance. In that case riding like a responsible person and keeping your distance would keep the rider safe. Also, I'm 6'1" 220ibs. Do you think a 250 cc bike would be able to handle highway riding?

Beginner's Bike
GZ250: 249cc, 331 pounds

Not a Beginner's Bike:
M109R: 1783cc, 764 pounds

You ask about:
M90: 1462cc, 723 pounds

Now, you tell me. Is the M90 similar to the 300 pound beginner's bike or the 700 pound muscle bike?

You will drop any of these bikes. While ones will you be able to set back up on it's wheels? Your body, your money, your call.

Don't listen at all to Akumu X, that person knows nothing about riding. I'm a 210 lb male and I starter on a Suzuki GZ250. I'm not sure why you want to hit the highway right off, but you can I guess. I will say that's it's not the safest thing to do. The GZ will not take you faster than 65, you're a big man, but don't blame the bike, you ate the extra helpings the past few years. I'm in the same boat. My second year I bought an 1100cc Shadow and I do just fine, but I would never recommend starting at that amount of power or anything close. There are many problems that can come with a bike that's too big for your ability (has little to do with your frame, so don't confuse the two). The bike will be too heavy for you if you get into a difficult situation or in a really low speed situation. Braking is more difficult as well. Don't do it! You WILL drop it, don't kid yourself. DimoJ and myself have warned you and akumu is a tard. Get a used bike for your first one, make it a small one. That way you won't feel like hell if you do have to lay it down because its older and didnt' cost you as much. Seriously, the GZ250 is the longest 250 of the three major ones that are made and I am your same size or at least I was.
