suzuki bandit idle screw won't turn out?

I have a 1996 gsf600s bandit, the idle screw won't turn out, the spring holds it from turning out any. The bike has no room to get any leverage on the crappy little knob. Does anyone know a trick to not have to tear the carbs off the bike?
ok got the screw backed out, used a socket on the knob that would stick farther down and be within reach, did the trick.

New Problem... this is what I was attempting to fix when the idle stop got stuck, the bike either wants to idle at ~1200rpm or ~2200. When I start it goes to 1200 when I stop it is at 2200 if I put a little load on it, it drops to 1200 and stays there. What might cause this, might the carbs need cleaned and are sticking inside or something.

Spray the threads with penetrating oil.
Stick both index fingers at the knob.
One finger - roll the knob away from you.
The other finger - roll the knob towards you.

Or use a screw driver.
Push the knob to roll it and use a finger on the other side of the screw to roll the knob in the other direction.
