My bike does this every so often. Doesn't matter dry or wet weather. Starts always fine on first time. But after riding for a while. If I stop the engine for any reason. it wont start again... Starter motor turning strong, but acting like there is no petrol in the tank and it wont start. I have to wait few hours before it starts again. Please what's going on?

Haha this used to happen to my dirt bike. Simply found out it was spart plug. I know it might not add up but change it anyway. Fouled plugs can run but are a pain in the as s to start

As stated by another user it could well be the spark plugs. Modern resistor plugs still spark even when knackered but give up the ghost under load.

Its sounds more like a knackered coil(s) to me though.......as the coil gets hot if there are any breaks in the windings these separate and can't pass the charge to the plugs. As the coil cools the windings close back up and spark fine again.

I don't think its a fuel problem as the bikes running for a good period before failing.

You can get good used coils off Ebay. Do the HT leads and plugs too.

I have the same bike and the same problems. My mechanic says that if you stop the bike in gear, then sometimes the gear cable gets hung up and won't allow the bike to go back to neutral for a while. It's a big pain.
The bike has to cool down a little before the cable will relax and go back to neutral.
I tried pushing it and it started after a bit.
Sorry.
