Suspension on a 1988 Ford Mustang lx coupe?

its a 5 0, i know nothing about these cars but my little brother decided to buy one, the front struts were blown i guess so he decided to change them on his own with little car expenrience, he also bought a set of lowering springs, he completely failed, heres the story he told me about his horrible accident, he had already unbolted the front passenger side strut from the brake caliper, he had his girlfriend remove the top from the engine bay while he stayed by the strut he removed with his legs under the rotor and a arm, he didnt have the jack under the a arm so you can guess what happened as soon as his chick removed that top bolt and the pressure of the springs came crashing down, he got 8 stiches on his right leg from the impact of the a arm that gave him a deep gash, now he can bearly walk, i decided to help him out but the springs he wants on it are very hard to put in i already tried my spring compressors but no dice, any suggestions out there that can help me out....
