Survey: In all honesty would you cross the road to stick up for or help another

human being or? Would you cross over the road to distance yourself from what was going on?

Should members of the public get involved and defend others who need the help?

Would you appreciate someone stepping in to defend and fight your battles for you or not?
 
Purely dependant on the situation....i am not gonna put my life in danger if there are a gang of guys fighting, i'd phone the police but on a one/two to one basis i wouldn't hesitate to try help someone out....

In this day and age of knife and gun crime....being the knight in shinning armour gets you killed...
 
I would want them to help me out but not fight the battle for me, we would stand up to the aggressor together.

Would i help out someone else? i would do my absolute best but if there was weapons involved then i might have to think about it first, im sorry but thats just the way it is, i would not just walk away though i would call the police. It all depends on the weapon as well, if it was a gun then no i would go near, if it was something else like a knife then i would consider the options as quick as i could.

Example of this is a few years ago near to where i live, in a totally unprovoked attack a woman was killed with an axe outside the front of a restaurant, in broad daylight with dozens of witnesses but nobody helped because they feared for themselves.
 
Yes I would help someone else if they seemed in real danger. And I would definitely appreciate someone stepping in if I was in trouble myself. X
 
I do it all the time.

I run into the scenes of accidents and i have stuck myself in the middle of fights.

it is the right thing to do.
 
Generally, no I wont. I expect people to take care of themselves. I realize that, occassionally, someone will get dealt a shitty hand....but usually, people's problems are self-inflicted and can easily be rectified....even the homeless can turn their lives around when they're properly motivated.

And no, I would not want anyone stepping in to defend me. I'm responsible enough to take care of myself.
 
I would help. I would like to think if a member of my family was getting beaten to death or something that someone would jump in and help them. I would only do the same
 
in all honesty I wouldnt and wouldnt advise anyone else to either I would go over to help and end up getting beat up or stabbed! If I were really concerned I would run round the corner and phone the police
