(not trying to make light or joke about suicide BTW)
True story - When I was a freshman in college there was a classmate of mine that couldn't take it but he was under a lot of family pressure to stay. He decided to take his own life, first by slitting his wrists - he cut them the wrong way and all they did was clot up. Then he tried an overdose but the only thing available was aspirin and all he did was get sick. Finally he tried jumping out of the window at our dorm but his room was just on the second floor and he soft-landed in some bushes. After the third try they pretty much figured out he wasn't mentally able to stay there.
Again, this question isn't intended to make light of suicide because I have had a couple of friends and other people I knew that actually did it.
