When I'm going 55-60 and just noticed today 61-62mph I notice that my RPM surges by 100 RPM. It'll be around 2,100 and then surge up to 2,200. The A/C is on while it does this. I have turned the A/C off and it will still do it a little bit but it seems like if I don't turn the A/C on it wont do it at all. It's pretty predictable in that if I stay a constant speed at 55-60mph it will surge 100 RPM.
What could be the causes? The car was wrecked and is damaged in the back passenger side pretty bad. So if it's an engine issue where it's slowly going to get worse then I might try to find another car. I'm not spending $1,000 or more on this car. It's too beat up with rust starting to slowly eat at it, now after the wreck.
