I'm going to make this short and to the point. A month and a half ago I had my left distal biceps tendon surgically repaired after a complete tear. There was also a piece of bone fragment that chipped off of my elbow that he seemed to "tuck away" during the surgery. Anyway, everything is fine so far. Physical therapy starts next week but I've always been concerned. The doctor always says it all looks fine, but there's a few things tickling my curiosity. There's been this weird, spiky, bone feeling thing that juts out of one part of my elbow about a half an inch from the incision. It feels weird to touch it and I'm careful about doing so because I feel like I could push it it or move it. Also, today my tongue randomly got numb. My only guess is that there is a nerve being pinched where the surgery took place. Lastly, just recently I woke up and instead of having my usual pain, my bicep muscle felt tight like it wanted to be flexed to stretch it. I didn't because I don't think that would be advisable.
What I'm asking is: What the hell is the spiky thing? Where did he put my bone fragment? Are these two things related? Am I correct about the tongue numbness? And what's up with the bicep tightness?
Like I said, the recovery is going fine otherwise. I perform all of the range of motion tests as he asks me with ease. I can turn my palm around so I know for sure that the tendon is sutured properly. Thanks in advance.
