PDANet isn't what he wants as he said he doesn't have WiFi at home and GPRS is too expensive. This means it is his PHONE without an affordable internet connection.
PDANet allows you to tether your computer to your phone, thus allowing your computer to use the internet connection on the phone. He doesn't want this as his phone does not have an internet connection (or rather, GPRS is too expensive, and it would be VERY expensive if it was used for PC level data volumes).
He wants to do the reverse of this and tether his phone to his computer, thus allowing his phone to use the cheap internet connection on his computer.
