...neighboring star and photograph its p? Suppose that, in some future century, we manage to send a probe out to a neighboring star and photograph its planets up close. We discover three terrestrial planets orbiting this star, with surfaces that are as described below. What can you conclude about each of these planets? Explain your reasoning in each case.
a) Planet A shows many volcanic land features and hardly any impact craters. The few impact craters visible are large and mostly eroded.
b) The surface of planet B is completely covered with impact craters of all sizes.
c) Planet C has one relatively smooth side with only a few impact craters, while its other side has many times more impact craters. (All sides of this planet are equally exposed to impacts from space.)
