Apparently the Art Director, Producer and Production Designer have walked plus major rewrites... But it's all okay cause the 'genius' that is McG is still directing...

I really don't hold out much for this Superman movie...

Here for more info

Don't worry folks. this movie isn't goin to be seen untill at least 2006/07. There should be another Batman movie out before this puppy.

And... there is no way in the world WB are gonna let that fool McG near this!

Anyway, just sit back and enjoy the Bat!

Having the movie as the extention of the current TV series. Tom is really good as Clark, so it could work really well.

Would be interesting to have a totally new movie though too... Some really interesting casting floating around for Lex. Bruce Willis? Johnny Depp?

kombat wombat right though. Current reports are it's all on hold at the moment. Anything that means McG's name get disconnected with this film is fine by me! :)

Weren't Batman and Superman going to be in a movie together? I think that would be awesome, having the two in the same feature.

Batman vs Superman was supposed to be a lead in movie for the new Batman and Superman movies but it now seems to ahve been shelved. If Superman 5 gets off the ground and is a hit and Batman 5 is a hit i wouldnt be suprised though if it ended up getting back on the schedual.

As for Tom Welling he certainly seems to fit the bill more as Superman than most of the names that have been rumoured. Noen of the rumoured names really jump out at me as any good

Ashton Kutcher - Wooden, no chrisma or personality. Can just about pull off the comedic idiot act but thats not Clark Kent./Superman
Kip Pardue - He just doesnt strike me as the right person
Brendan Fraser - Again another Wooden actor who I always think overplays his parts to a point where they often become annoying.
Josh Hartnett - Another actor I find a bit wooden at times and certainly not believable
Jude Law - Doesnt strike me as the man of steel
Paul Walker - Imho was dreaful in Timeline, and the two Fast and Furious movies so on those shouldnt be considered
Matthew Bomer - Dont know a great deal about him but my impression from watching Tru Calling is he just isnt right for the role
Keanu Reeves - Wooden, wtf is up with all these wooden actors being linked with the role, ok I know as Clark he isnt the most charsmatic person but surely you need an actor with a bit of skill
Nicolas Cage - Was 'cast' in the role for a long time and would have made intesting casting but I just dont think it would have worked

Tom welling certainly beats all those hanRAB down imho.

Having said how poor the names linked with the part of supes the Lois lane ones are worse with the likes of Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jessica Bieland Beyonce Knowles all be linked and none imho being suited for it. The best name linked is Selma Blair who I actually think might very well work.

All of these rumours however are trumped by the fact that Justin Timberlake is tipped to get the role of Jimmy Olsen. WHY OH WHY would anyone cast him in any role, has the world gone mad.

I quite like Dean Cain as Superman. Not sure how well he'd tranfer onto the big screen though. Specially if you want to take it into a more 'real' direction like the Batman movie.

Tatopoulos Says Superman Starting Up Again

Creature effects designer Patrick Tatopoulos ("I, Robot," "Underworld") tells Moviehole that the Superman production is heating up again...

On a final note, Tatopoulous says he's got confirmation of a super-project. "My best friend called me two days ago and said Superman is on. It's starting up again. He's the concept illustrator, the designer worked on The Matrix, he's Australian, from Sydney. I can't tell you much more than that, but yeah, it's going to be filming in Australia soon."

Since Superman was able to turn back time in one of the earlier movies to save Lois Lane from a car (by apparently spinning the Earth backwarRAB on its axis) , surely the idea of running around rescuing people could easliy be done by altering time to suit the emergency from now on, rather than getting there just in time, simply for kicks in the cinema ?

Or am I being a bit pedantic ?
