Oh, thanks for the refresher. The only thing I remember was that he erased Lois' memory. Oh, that was because of it, right? Good. :hug:
 
This is one of the reasons I love SR so much. They didn't try to change the characters to make ticket sales increase. They stuck to the story and made Superman's actions and the consequences of those actions grounded in reality. I believe that was why I was disappointed in X-men 3.
 
Yeah, I hate that people bash SR too. Superman is the iconic hero of all time. I think that, well according to a lot of my friends, the reason Superman isn't 'hip' enough is because unlike the other heros [Batman, Spiderman, the Green Arrow], Superman has his powers because he isn't human. The other heroes are willing to take risks by being human.

Cha, that's what makes Superman great- the fact that he isn't human. I always enjoy movies, where the hero is not from this world. Sure it's great to see some humans kick some butt; however, for me it's even greater when those heroes are not from around here but rather from another world- which takes the mind to great lengths. Instead of focusing on the ordinary things on our world- our immaginations are able to take flight. And Superman gives us all of these great characteristics (despite what the masses might say.)

Oh man, I'm so stoked for Nov. 28th! This is what is on my "To Buy" list:

- The Amazing Story of Superman
- Superman Returns
- Joan of Arcadia: Season 2

I have been saving up all year for these!!! Especially Joan.
 
There’s an incredible scene in Superman Returns where the Man of Steel has caught a gigantic globe–the Daily Planet, as a matter of fact–which only moments before had been falling from atop a skyscraper to a populated street below. As he lowers it gently to the ground, he takes on the iconic pose of Atlas, the Greek god who was tasked with keeping the world balanced upon his shoulders. In many ways, Superman had a similar task; one many felt he forfeited when he left Earth for five years in search of his obliterated home-world. Things got very bad in his absence.

UnsilentMajorty I agree with you. I hate the fact that now a movie is good or bad according to how much money it makes. It's so stupid. Because everybody goes to watch that movie it doesn't mean it's good. I'm tired of people bashing Superman Returns. I think the movie was amazing. I was happy to see a good superhero movie this year because X-Men was dissapointing. They made it so commercial that they lost the real characters and the real story. I like Superman Returns because Superman is Superman. They didn't change him for making likeable for "everyone".

It has been confirmed that SR will have a sequel :D
 
That's a good one. Though, Lois' could've showed a lil shock, so to speak, when Lex put that kryptonite near Jason. Although, from that scene I got the impression that Lois already knew who the father was hence, no shock.
So what I wanted to know on the sequel is that how did she know, when and how did she react on it?
Aw, I want the movie now!
 
In the Christopher Reeve film, Superman II.

You have to remember Director Bryan Singer said SR is basically a sequel to Superman II. Part III and IV -- Which weren't very good -- Apparently never took place and this is a good thing since they were at the tail end of the series and it was wearing thin by then.

In Superman II, Clark/Kal El decides he doesn't want to be Superman anymore and uses a crystal chamber at the Fortress of Solitude that has the power of Kyrpton's Red Sun which completely takes away all his powers, leaving him as a normal human.

The first thing he does after he becomes human is tells Lois (Margot Kidder) who he is... And she accepts him. They do the deed... But of course, everything can't last forever and General Zod and his minions have come to Earth and of course want revenge of Jor-El's son for Jor-El imprisoning them in the Phantom Zone (this mythology is consistent for both the films and the comic book series). So, Clark is forced to regain his powers via the chamber and go and fight Zod.

In the end, Clark leads General Zod and his people back to the Fortress of Solitude where he tricks them into giving up their powers (so he can beat them) when they "force" him to give up his powers again by going into the crystal chamber... Except, Clark has reversed the polarity meaning that anyone INSIDE the chamber retains their powers and anyone outside the chamber is rendered powerless by the rays of the Red Sun. :)
 
Following a mysterious absence of several years, the Man of Steel comes back to Earth in the epic action-adventure Superman Returns, a soaring new chapter in the saga of one of the world’s most beloved superheroes. i saw the movie again last night...i love it to bits still...lol

i cant wait for the sequel...2009?!?!?...that sucks lol
 
I am still amazed at how much I enjoyed this film!!! (listening to the John Ottman soundtrack right now.)

Went to Barnes & Noble since I needed some books for school and so I just too the chance and got the "Superman Returns" novel as well! School comes first, I know but I can't wait till I get around to reading this one!
