Superhero genre

Im in the middle of writing my dissertation and was wondering whether anyone had any good points of reference (books, comics films etc) other than the most obvious ones that I could use in my research....any help would be great!! :)
 
What's your topic specifically?

I recently did my thesis on saviour figures in science fiction film, touched upon the superhero genre briefly (Superman etc) and used 'Superheroes' (Rough Guides) as a starting point, had lots of links to journals, websites etc. :)
