I just moved in my dad's home a little under a year ago. I have three dogs *which is the city limit*. Since my dad is getting remarried soon, I'm pretty much living on my own. Anyway, my neighbor, who I love and respect like she was my own grandmother, is getting on my nerves... first she complains that the grass is too high on my side of the fence. I can't physically cut the grass, so that's my dad's job. Since he's always gone, it doesn't seem to get done as quickly as I would like. Then she starts complaining that my dog was barking too much. Okay, I understand that one. But on the night that she actually complained, there was a possum across the street and my dog could see it. And all the other dogs in the neighborhood were barking too...Since then, I’ve been bringing all my dogs in at night… And then she complains about the doggie droppings in the backyard; saying that they are causing flying bugs around her outside patio. I am currently taking care of that. But regardless if I do, there will still be flying bugs around her house...considering that the house on the other side of me doesn't pick up after his dog and the two houses across the street don't either AND flying bugs tend to travel a lot. BUT THE ONE THING THAT HAS MADE ME WANT TO SCREAM AT HER is one day we were talking and she said," I have lived her for 30 something odd years and never had a roach. Now we have roaches. And I don't know if it's because of Y'ALL or what." Okay, on the other side of her is an empty field that the neighborhood boys throw all their trash. The house on my other side has been empty for at least a year and the current owner said it was TRASHED when he saw it for the first time. And we didn't have bugs until after she said that... and we're spraying and spraying like our lives depend on it. They're still coming back. Now, I try to ignore her but do as she asks. I’m trying to behave like a well mannered young adult, but at the same time, I just want to yell at her to mind her own business! I just got my third dog, who I’m afraid will be complained on because of his separation anxiety. And I want to have parties like all young adults do, but I know it will be complained on…Is there anything I can do about her complaining without causing problems between us?
