Super Bitch and the people who put up with it.

YAHT (Yet Another Hotel Thread)

So this bitch tries to check in, and the boss is here. We're booked, totally full, and she knows it. So she proceeds to claim that when she made her reservation she requested a downstairs room. I know there's no hope of putting her in one. I look to see who made the reservation and 'lo and behold, it's the boss. So I look to her.

She talks to the lady for a while and then remembers the bitch. The boss booked her the room and told her it was on the second floor. The lady argues. Then the lady says she has a woman with her with a heart condition that cannot climb stairs. Then she talks about her pets. I'm just shocked at this lady. The boss pretty much says take it or leave it, but lets her break a major rule. The lady stays, with much grumbling.

Hotel policy is no animals upstairs, period. The boss does it anyways, and then tells me to pretend not to have heard the lady. I told the boss she should have just sent the lady down the road, I could have sold one room sheesh.

So many calls and annoying things occur, this is getting too long anyways. Time for the punch line.

The lady calls down after 10pm and says her "partner" scalded herself in our shower because our water was the hottest she's ever seen! She claims something must be broken to cause such unbelievable heat, and that she may have to rush her partner to the Emergency ward!!! She informs me that I should write a report because she is. I check the water downstairs that's hooked to the same system, it's no hotter than usual. So the bitch is all like "I'll keep you informed of my decision to take my partner to the hospital." This bitch just wont quit. I call my boss at home and she says the punchline....

"I guess you were right, we should have sent her down the road."

DING DING, We have a winnar!

I can smell a piece of shit from accross the counter, why can't other people? Anyways... I'll write if she sues us, then I'll have to go to court, oh joy.

You just gotta love how the bosses will bend the rules for a guest RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU after you've already told the guest no. :sword: Then the guest acts all smug and self-righteous and you just want to smack the shit out of them both.

Occasions like this just remind me why I hate customers. Once you start giving them an inch they take a mile and assume that your world is their oyster to gobble up if they so fucking choose.

I used to cater to customers at tables until I discovered that they don't give a shit about you and will still tip you shitty after you help them through all their griping. Now when I wait on tables and someone complains without good reason, I pretty much tell them, "I'm sorry but you ordered it that way." or, "Yeah, but you ate it all." This is usually followed by a small arguement that is quelled with me identifying them with their full name as given via their reservation with a statement about how the manager would love to discuss his/her problem at the table with him/her in front of all their guests, and basically make him/her seem like a complete ass.

The way I see it is that they're just trying to get something for free, so fuck 'em. You'd be surprised how many people in a restraunt (sp?) think they can just throw their weight around and make a server bend over backwards. This is when I love to punch them in the kidneys.

What can you do? Bosses don't always do what's right. Sometiems they do what they can to get money. This person sounds like a major bitch. I would have told her "I hope you do take her to the emergency room. It'll get you the hell out of my hair."

i think a main problem is that the people who are the biggest problem probably haven't been both sides of the fence. my wife and i were both employed in the service industry when we were younger, thus we only complain about things when they are genuinely amiss. or maybe we're just sane.

it'd be nice if there was a 'service industry draft', at age 17 everyone would have to work in a store, hotel, or a restaurant for about 3 months and then hopefully appreciate what can and can't be done.

i know this is absurd, but it's nice to dream..

Sometimes you have to go over the boss' head. While working as a bagger at a supermarket a troupe of Jackass wannabe's complete with a camcorder (not permitted in the store) comes in, the leader riding one of the electric carts. He drove the thing wild and bumped things right in front of the front end manager. She did nothing, so I hit the emergency brake of the cart, giving the jackoff a nice jolt of kinetic energy. As he began to say "what the..." I told him nobody thought he was funny so he should get out. He proceded to complain to the my manager that I was being a very impolite employee and asked what she planed to do about it, she said she was going to give me a raise and then told them to get out. The discouraged band say the light and got out of there. She and several customers thanked me. I didn't get fired, but I never got that raise

I'm discussing the customers that think they can push you around and get free food and discounts if they complain. I'm more than happy to help even the most difficult of customers, just as long as they don't think free food is their right when they order food they don't like.

Thanks for all the thoughts folks! Well super bitch is still here tonight. The manager finally broke down and just told the lady to chill out or pack up. She decided to stay and is not fuckin around with us anymore. Still she has her "records" and such, and so in the future the bitch may try to be, well... a bitch.

I cannot agree more with most of you above, people are just insane customers sometimes, and mostly, when you just stand up and be nice, but firm, they'll see reason and back down. When you seem to be caving in to their demands they only get worse. Have a backbone for cryin out loud.
