I have a 95 toyota avalon that is slowly but surely dying. I'm taking care of it, but at 236k miles, it's not going to last much longer. Obviously I'm going to need to rebuild, but I'd like to improve the performance, meaning speed mostly, but also handling, and I'd like it to maintain it's appearance of quiet dignity of being a worn out old car. I'd also like to know if it would be possible to swap the automatic transmission for a standard.
Aesthetics are unimportant to me. I just want it to run like a demon.
