I saw this film last night and was mad that I didn't stay at home and watch Prison Break.

To be honest, I didn't have high hopes for it in the first place but it was just soooooooo bad.

Have any of you guys seen it?

it's definitely worth a shot. Go see it on the big screen.
I've seen as many good reviews as bad, so you've got a 50/50 chance that you'll like it.

:p

The plot sounRAB ridiculus. I t was enough to put me off watchin git. Shame as i really like Cillian Murphy

Seriously, it's more intelligent than it first seems, it has plenty of depth to it if you allow yourself to be wrapped up in the story.

The more i actually think about the film the more i think i enjoyed it, i'm probably going to go see it again before it stops showing at the cinemas.

I agree with everything you say from the ridiculous concept, the unprofessional attitude of the crew and the 'cause' of the mission problems. Put sci-fi plots back 30 years.

Having said that the effects were good and camera work was well done.

I agree with most of the comments. I thought that it was technically good - ie a good piece of art. However as a film it was poor. There was nothing storywise in that film that hadn't been done a thousand times before. And the 'monster' bit was just stupid.

It's alright but you can tell Danny Boyle (the director) doesn't have a real sci-fi bone in his body, it was just like a mediocre rip-off of every decent sci-fi flick going.

wow if this movie is bad, then this year for movies is really bad because i still have not seen 1 movie thats worth watching this year, i give up i am happy with classics.

Seen it this afternoon. pretty good apart from the last 20 minutes which were a bit silly imo. Cillian Murphy is always good value to watch though and some of the effects were decent.

Loved it. Very nicely put questura and I agree with CJClarke that the more I think about it the more I realise I really liked it and enjoyed it.

And yes the special effects and sound are unbelievable and I'm already salivating for the HD-DVD/Blu-ray release ;)

Also, is it wrong to think that Chris Evans (In the film, not the well known ginger wingnut) is rather tasty? :o

I am very indifferent to this film. I really dont quite know what to think!

I really liked the opening, it just expalined the plot in basic terms and said "this is whats happening, and what we are going to do". I liked that it was all contained amongst those characters, it gave the movie a great sense of isolation which really helped make the audience feel a bit, uncomfortable I think.

It seemed to move from set piece to set piece, some which worked and some didnt. There were some really creepy bits (I kept thinking that something was going to make me JUMP, but it never did!), the faces that kept flashing on screen were the creepiest.

I am not even going to pretend that I understood a lot of it. I have NO IDEA how that guy ended up on the craft, and why he just started randomly killing (other than the fact that he was insane, obviously), and I dont feel that all of it was explained particularly well, or maybe i just got bored on ocassions and drifted off.

I thought it was cast well, and directed fairly well too. I didn't really understand the end much either, about where they were even (on the bomb), but I did like the closing moments of the sun re-emerging on an Earth that was obviously stuggling (the only non Icarus part of the film!) to survive.

It's a film that I didn't really love, but I am really intrigued to read up about, and it certainly provided a lot of discussion points. So from my point of view, enjoyable, but not great.

6/10
