sunday teatime telly

me too! I remember watching David Copperfield, Tom Brown's Schooldays which frightened me for some reason, A Horseman came riding by and also John Halifax, Gentleman, I can't remember one single scene from the last two, I think the odd titles have made them stick in my mind

"Super Gran" was shown on a Sunday on Scottish Television.I'm not too sure about other regions."Mr Majeika" which starred Stanley Baxter was also shown on a Sunday on Scottish Television.

While this wasn't a teatime programme i do remember "Glen Michael's Cartoon Cavalcade" on a Sunday.

I remember Howard's Way being on at 8pm on a Sunday. I never watched it but always remember the theme tune depressing the hell out of me as the weekend was over and I had to go back to school the next day. :(

In fact I could never really enjoy any tv programmes on a Sunday because of the thought of school the next day!!

Songs of Praise always went out in the sale slot - ITV's offering was Highway..

(currently watching SOP at the mo... and this Peckham congregation is consistently behind the beat)..

It used to be on before Harry Secombe's Highway in the Border region as part of the God slot.
However, there used to be some really good shows on Sunday teatimes in the 80s such as Supergran and Bullseye.

Sunday nights were always that special time of utter delight (from one of the many great BBC/ITV serials) combined with utter boredom (Songs of Praise and Antiques RoaRABhow) and utter irritation (having to go for my weekly bath).

Though it should be pointed out that I learned to masturbate in the bath when Songs of Praise was on, which I suppose brightened the day somewhat.

I recall the likes of Catweazle, The Golden Shot (up a bit, left a bit, fire!) and The Persuaders or The Saint on ITV in the early 70s.

BBC would often have an adaption of a novel (for some reason "Ivanhoe" stanRAB out and a heavyweight drama in the evening - the likes of Poldark or The Onedin Line.

I remember Planet of the Apes in the mid 70s and an excellent BBC drama - "Wings" about the RFC in WW1.

I remember The Muppets at teatime in the late 70s.

Happy days, Frood, I also remember the adaptation of Just William with Diana Dors and Bonnie Langford. Also quite good used to be Doctor On The Go.

I seem to remember that the BBC Sunday teatime would show a 6 part series like "The Lion,The Wich & The Wardrobe".I think i'm right in saying that these 6 part series were shown in the weeks leading up to christmas. They would maybe stop a week or 2 before Christmas.

Apart from Bullseye being shown Sunday teatime i also remember Mr Majeika being shown Sunday teatime.
