Sunburned feeling on feet-pins and needles

Hey guys. I'm 5 weeks post op from spinal fusion of L4 to S1. Just recently I'v been experiencing strange feelings in my left foot. It feels as if the top of my foot is badly sunburned. I also have feelings of pins and needles on the bottom and on my toes. The feeling is very eratic and comes and go's. It seems to be much worse when I'm laying down. Usually when I'm up on my feet the sensation is hardly noticable. Before my opt, I did not have this going on. I do realize it has to do something with the nerves. My question is
1.Can anybody relate?
2.How long does this last or is this permanent?
I do realize everybody is different and backs are a crazy thing. Thx guys.:)

I am also very new to this but at 8 months out I can tell you that I also had the burning eratic neopathy feelings that moved but mainly was on my left thigh. That has gone away but now my bunns have that and pain in my right leg and heal sharp needles burning and stabbing. ? did you have a 360 cause I also had that feeling in groin area at about the 2 month mark that still comes and goes. i am thinking this is some nerve being pinched but am unable to get the dr to understand my situation yet. at my 6 month it was discovered that a screw moved at S1 and I was told this was normal. Was also told early on that these felings and strange pains are normal since they did alot and the nerves need time to heal.

This condition can go on for a while, but does get better over time. It can be controlled with neurontin.

AZREBEL, Not to scare Scoopy but I am on 900mg of Neurotin and still have the pins and needles. I can say that 90% of that burning feeling I had at 1 and 2 months is gone now at 8months. So Scoopy hang on you may discover that one day its gone. Do you know how long before Nerot takes effect or how much ?? is 900mg just a starting dose? Been on it for 5 weeks now and still have the pins and burning,?? Sorry to jump in on your Question Scoopy but my questions might help you too?

Ask your dr. about Lyrica. A very good alternative to nuerontin. I have been on Lyrica for 6 yrs. Without it, my right foot would be on fire. I had spinal fusion L5-S1 in 2004. Will be on lyrica the rest of my life.

Myback, I was on 900mg initially. I am 14 months post op. I now take one pill a day, 300 mg. It, the condition, just keeps getting better, month by month. When you have the painful sunburn feeling, guess what helps, sunburn lotion. Lather it on, it helps. AND, there are no side effects, unless you count smelling like a tropical paradise. ( : - )
